why do i try to summarise my music history..?
(i was preparing this cutesy little video for my dad for father’s day, and I found this old note from 2020 talking about my plans for a music scrapbook overwhelmed i gave up and hid the playlist. because i doubt he’ll see this, i’m uploading this to show that I TRIED OK there was just too much music to deal with)
I have compiled forty songs into this scrapbook, that have deep deep deep meaning in my life, not only because you introduced them to me, but because I’ve been able to associate them with moments of my life - and as well know, I cannot live without music, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I am always ready to go for a drive with you, or just vibe to random YouTube videos with you because I know I can always count on being interested on learning more about you through your music. Enough of this dribble, I shall continue to explain the structure of the book. Each song will have a lyric or reference to fill in, three songs in the playlist radio (which are from the songs actual playlist radio, that I have hand picked), three other songs from the artist and all my scribbles about why I picked each song. All this to show that the songs I put in this book will be eternal, which for me is immensely important, because I’m, one, terrified of all of my Spotify playlists getting erased or getting amnesia or something and, B, I’m terrified of forgetting a moment I was able to share with you and bond over because of the song. I will never be able to thank you enough on the amount you’ve taught me, and I hope you enjoy this book.
(and so ensues this bizarre interconnected list of music and lyrics)
